Outgoing Council President Louis Escobar, Councilman Rob Ludeman, and Councilwoman Ellen Grachek made the presentations, as captioned in the above photograph.
Dr. Jacobs has since met with UT’s employees; both presidents have also met with the Ohio Board of Regents.
The combined institution’s name, if approve, is unknown.
Also, at last week’s council meeting, Louis Escobar, Karyn McConnell Hancock, and Mayor Jack Ford were recognized by Council for their services to the citizens of Toledo. All will be leaving at the end of 2005.

New Council member Joe Birmingham was welcomed. Birmingham is the councilperson for District 3, vacated by Bob McCloskey after his Council At-Large victory in November of 2004.
