Last weekend, Toledo’s Central Catholic High School football team (The Irish) defeated the Canfield Cardinals, 31 to 29, in a thrilling 48-minute contest at Paul Brown Tiger Stadium in Massillon. Passing made the difference in an often too-close-to-call game.

The Irish won its first Division II championship, and boast two Latinos on its team: Xavier Graciani (#9) and Alan Campos (#6).
“This is just awesome,” exclaimed Graciani, a senior, who plans on attending college at either the University of Toledo, Kent State, or Indiana Tech, majoring in architecture. Graciani also plays baseball for the Irish, as a short stop.
Campos is also a wide receiver and senior.
