Remembrance and Ode to Mi Abuelita

Adela “Lela” Massaferro de Miguel

Rest in peace to my beautiful Grandma,…mi Abuelita. You lived a life of traveling, making new friends and cooking delicious food.

As much as it saddens me to see you go I know that you’re happy now. And I will never forget your stories and your wise words. I know that you’ll be watching over me.

Where as many of us will morn our loss, I would like to celebrate your life. I will love you forever and always.

“Never give up a moment to travel some place new. It’s nice to see the beauties of the world around you,” mi Abuelita!

--Love, Natalia De Miguel

To my loving sister
Alicia Guadalupe Barboza

 August 8, 1956 to August 18, 1997

I think of you Lupe, every day,
your smiles and chatter, the words you did say,
and especially the time that we shared.

If only I could turn back time,
to when our lives were full of fun.
Our sisterly chats, our planned places to go,
where did those sands of time go?

You kept saying, “Why me?”
“One day at a time” and “keep positive” was all I could say to you,
I think of your words every day and think on how I wish I could

of held on to time then and have spent every second with you.

I always believed you would get more time with your kids,
for more love, laugh and play, and watching them grow.
But you didn’t get that chance, and you’re not here…

Why you Lupe? Why were you taken from us so young?
How can we ever bring back those times?

We were both robbed Lupe, of precious time,
we should be sharing now, growing old together.
The pleasures of watching our kids learn and grow.

The answers that I’ll never find, nor ever understand
I only wish you were here,
so I could hug you, talk to you and just visit for a minute,

I miss you so much Lupe, more than words can ever say,
my precious memories of you are with me every day

through your children and grandchildren.

Happy Birthday Lupe -- Love you mucho . . .mucho! ~
Melinda

September 12, 1932 - February 17, 2012

We thought of you
with love today.
But that is nothing new.
We thought about
you yesterday
And days before that too.
We think of you in silence.
We often speak your name.
Now all we have
are memories,
and your picture in a frame.
Your memory is
our keepsake.
With which we’ll never part.
God has you in his keeping.
We have you in our heart.

Mamá,…we love and miss you very much
—de parte de tu familia
.
