LA PRENSA AT LARGE: Rev. Ezekiel Villa was honored at an unveiling ceremony on Dec. 7, 2013 at the intersection of South Avenue and Spencer Street, Toledo—a short distance from the Mexican-American restaurant that he and his wife, Consuelo, founded in 1968 by the name of El Tipico, located at 1444 South Ave. The intersection was named “Ezekiel Villa Corner.”

Rev. Villa, age 80, is a Korean War veteran. He was joined by his children, Dina and Frank, and many friends and supporters including Lucas County Auditor Anita López. The street sign memorial was presented to Rev. Villa and his family along with a resolution on Nov. 26^th by Toledo City Council.

Serovia Rodríguez Hernández was born in Waring, Texas. She married Angel Hernández on March 2, 1935, raising 5 children: Francisco, Mary, Fernando, Margarita, and Nicolas. She will be celebrating her 101th birthday on Oct. 30, 2013. May the good Lord shower His blessings on her and her special day!
Sister Therese Rodríguez was born January 4, 1908 in Villa Hidalgo, Jalisco, México. She entered Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament Convent in Parma Heights, Ohio in 1927. She will observe her 106^th birthday on January 4, 2014. She was the seamstress and sacristan for her community. Photo taken Oct. 30, 2012.

Both large families originated from Mexico/Texas..
