jobless rates for May
LANSING,
June 26, 2008 (AP): Michigan's regional unadjusted jobless rates
for May ranged from a low of 6 percent in Ann Arbor to a high of
11.1 percent in Flint. The state's major labor market areas,
their seasonally unadjusted jobless rates for May and the change
since April:

Ann Arbor, 6 percent, up from 4.2 percent.
Battle Creek, 7.5 percent, up from 5.9 percent.
Bay City, 8 percent, up from 6.6 percent.
Detroit-Warren-Livonia, 8.9 percent, up from 6.9 percent.
Flint, 11.1 percent, up from 9.3 percent.
Grand Rapids-Wyoming, 6.8 percent, up from 5.3 percent.
Holland-Grand Haven, 6.8 percent, up from 5.2 percent.
Jackson, 8.3 percent, up from 6.5 percent.
Kalamazoo-Portage, 6.4 percent, up from 4.9 percent.
Lansing-East Lansing, 7.1 percent, up from 5.1 percent.
Monroe, 8.8 percent, up from 6.4 percent.
Muskegon-Norton Shores, 8.3 percent, up from 6.5 percent.
Niles-Benton Harbor, 7.5 percent, up from 5.9 percent.
Saginaw-Saginaw Township North, 9.1 percent, up from 7.3
percent.
Upper Peninsula, 7.9 percent, up from 7.6 percent.
Northeast Lower Michigan, 9.6 percent, down from 9.8 percent.
Northwest Lower Michigan, 8.1 percent, up from 7.8 percent.
