The Prior Learning Assessment Adviser/Coach is responsible for the advisement of students through the Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) process. The PLA adviser will provide students with information on the program and help determine their eligibility. This position will work closely with the Director to design, implement and evaluate a PLA program.  The Prior Learning Assessment program works with students who are interested in earning college credit for relevant work, volunteer and life experiences gained outside of the traditional classroom. The PLA program allows students to demonstrate learning through portfolio development, standardized testing, credit by exam and non-sponsored collegiate learning.

 

The requirements for this position include: Bachelor's degree, Master's degree preferred, trained or ability to be trained in PLA certification, minimum of three years experience in advising students and/or in student services capacity, excellent written and oral communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects, proficiency in computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, presentations and internet research.  Experience or knowledge of Prior Learning Assessment strongly preferred.  Knowledge of University systems such as Banner, myut portal and web report library is preferred.  The starting salary range for this position is $35,200 - $44,000.

Lucas County Children Services (LCCS) is issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP) for Mentoring Services for Substance Abusing Parents.

 

The goal is to provide mentoring services that will support parents to:

 

  • Engage in and successfully complete substance abuse treatment;

  • Retain custody and/or reunify with their children;

  • Learn the skills necessary to prevent re-maltreatment of their children.

 

LCCS is seeking proposals from governmental units, private for-profit entities/

agencies and non-profit entities/agencies that have unique information, knowledge and experience providing mentoring services to substance abusing parents.

SEALED PROPOSALS for bidding on Pearson Metropark Multi-Purpose Trail, Oregon, Ohio, Lucas County, will be received; opened; and read aloud at the Metropolitan Park District of the Toledo Area, Fallen Timbers Field Office, 6101 Fallen Timbers Lane, Maumee, Ohio 43537 Friday, August 13, at 9:00 a.m. Local Time.

PRE-BID WALK-THROUGH: Bidders must attend one of two mandatory pre-bid walk-through meetings held on-site August 6 or 9, 2010 at 10:00–11:00am.  The meetings will be held at 4854 Seaman Road, Oregon, Ohio 43616.

No bidder may withdraw its bid within thirty (30) days after the actual date of the opening thereof.
